Behind the Scenes of an Artistic, Creative Shoot

This was a collaboration between my good friend Jean Marie Biele (photographer), Haley Finegan (HMUA), Hayley Boulicault & Cabias Thomas (models). This was very much Jean's idea, but I had been shooting with her creatively for almost a year, and I love seeing the different ways that a natural light photographer with a woman's perspective would tackle the same situation that I would, with a male viewpoint and a penchant for using artificial lighting whenever possible.

I shot the BTS video here, so that's why you don't see me shooting at all. While Jean was shooting, I would shoot video and try to come up with different ideas for poses. You'll see some of the photos I took at the end of the video, but scroll down to see a few more. This was such a great shoot!

Probably my favorite vertical image from the shoot, I just love the look & feeling captured here. He was actually sitting down on a stool, but I felt the crop emphasized the feeling between the two of them here.

Not only my favorite image of the shoot, but one of my favorite photos that I've shot to date. I just love the look & feeling of this, and also how it makes people stop and look at it every time they see it.

I shot these right at the end of the shoot. Just a quick setup on the other side of the studio, using a black backdrop and ringlight.
